Volunteer Community Foresters are meeting with the Raise team to help care for young trees near How Tun Woods in south Cumbria. This is a practical, hands-on day outdoors focused on maintaining and strengthening last year’s planting.
This session is part of our neuroaffirming Volunteer Community Forester programme. It offers a structured, welcoming space to build skills, spend time outdoors and contribute to long-term woodland creation.
This session is for Volunteer Community Foresters and invited link organisations.
Aims of the work at How Tun include:
caring for trees planted last year by reducing competition from surrounding vegetation
replacing trees that struggled following last year’s drought
increasing biodiversity by extending woodland edge habitat and improving species diversity
